In 1994, he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He spent two years studying Native American healing techniques with the Ojibwa tribe of Northern Wisconsin. In 2002, Dr Severance furthered his understanding of natural medicine graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. He is currently active in his chiropractic office and teaches Anatomy & Physiology (basic sciences) at Midwest College and the College of Lake County.

Teaching Statement

Over the last 20+ years, one of my duties as a Doctor of Natural Medicine has been to educate my patients to the degree that they can make informed decisions and better choices regarding their health. Teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, and other basic sciences at the college level grants me the continuation of this crucial responsibility of guidance and instruction on a much larger scale. I want to create an appreciation for the human body and its multitude of profoundly complex interactions that occur every second of every day to keep us alive, aware, and responsive. Teaching at MCOM can help build up an army of healers ready to spread world peace one apple, and one needle at a time.

P E R S O N A L

Becoming a Doctor of Chiropractor, Diplomat in Acupuncture, Author, Lecturer, and Wellness Consultant has fulfilled my desire to help people realize their fullest potential. It has expanded my own understanding of Natural Law and its relationship to the human experience. The field of natural medicine has taught me to see past physical pathologies and tap into those modalities that feed the body’s innate desire for perfection, health, and wellbeing.
